The inhabitants of this beautiful planet are at a crossroads, a very important choice point. For centuries wars have been fueled under different pretenses and the only thing that they accomplish is needless death and more wealth for those who supply the resources to keep them going. Have we not learned that war solves nothing and leaves scars for generations? We are divided under the guise of many things, religion, color, culture; often by design. When we are conscious enough to understand this, we will unite and cooperate and war will not stand a chance. We are at that door. All we have to do is open it. People are very tired of the same old trend. One cannot continue to run because this choice point is worldwide. It doesn't matter where we are located and in my very humble opinion, we will step into a different paradigm, one that no longer will tolerate the warring. Instead we will use our creative energies to move in a different direction.
Take care David and Tamara and thank you for your work. I have visited Bosnia three times and I have a young friend in Visoko. The people and the country are in my heart.
A cracking episode David. Thanks for the update on the region, it’s not something that’s being talked about, well not in the normal U.K. news channels. I guess between the Ukraine, Gaza and the ever decreasing decline being led by the Orange Man … it’s just not thought of as important for the news cycles. But it is! I hope both of you can stay safe and well and keep up the brilliant work my friend.
Mark, thanks for this comment. This region, apart from conflict, never gets mentioned in International media. I hope these podcast episode work. As a podcast expert yourself, any tips to improve and develop this "Personal but Anecdotal" style , would be immensely helpful. As you know, I am out here without much of in the way of support. Anyway, Hope all is well with you, Bests, David
David, there is nothing I could teach you my friend. You are managing the perfect balance as far as I’m concerned. They are laid back and imformative at the same time. They make the listener feel that they are walking along with you, two friends having a stroll and a chat. Keep On, Keeping On.
I completely understand how you feel and your reasons to stay. This is not an easy decision to make. You look around yourself and see everything that you love, even the land and you just can't imagine living without it.
But if worst happen, I think you should consider leaving. And I will tell you why. I was 10- 11 years old when conflict started and I vividly remember my parents discussing should we leave or stay. We stayed. That decision resulted in not having electricity weeks on - finding new ways to store the food, fridge was not an option - not having water supply regularly, running to boiler room in middle of the night because sirens sounded arial attack, not having medical help. To this day I see candles as necessary and there is nothing romantic about them.
You need to consider all this. My mum at the moment depends on 10 different medications on daily basis. She will duy if there is no supply of them. I already told her if something happens she needs to collect her things and head to border with Croatia. No waiting.
I am not saying that it will happen, but we need to be prepared.
This might be pessimistic way of seeing things but I can't help it.
Mirjana, Thanks for these very personal thoughts. I truly hope things will stabilise and we can all get back to something resembling "normal" soon. I remain positive. Your pessimism is justified.
Reading this on a lovely clear morning. Difficult to envisage the tensions elsewhere, but they exist if we look outside our own safe place. Good luck to you both.
In your situation, I know I would have done the same. And, after all, in spite of all the rising tensions, I do feel optimistic that this conflict will be resolved peacefully eventually. Lots to be said about that, because ofc there is a lot of context to consider.
And rest assured, I and many others watch the situation closely from where we are, and we are with this lovely, if troubled, country all the way.
You don't scare easily, and you can cope with a lot of pressure. Nevertheless, should you feel the need to reach out, you have my number.

Keep the "chassis" moving.😉
Nice if you could talk about hiking in BiH. You once mentioned a hiking trail hiking from North to South over the Balkans.
Helge, I am working on on that 👍

Hi Cuz, thanks for being a supporter of these podcasts, vlogs, posts. Means a lot ❤️
Three cheers to you and Tamara for staying.

Chris, thanks so much. I am of the same thoughts as you. This will get solved. But lets pray its not a Dayton Re-Run!
